Ten things to do in Florence

Florence for me is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to and I love to spend my free time there. If anyone is thinking of taking a city break definitely keep Florence in mind as it's a wonderful place to visit regarding food, fashion, scenery, shopping, bars and famous monuments.

1. Florence is a beautiful place for food and wine, whether it’s lunch, brunch or a beautiful dinner you’re looking for they seriously have it all! The first thing I would recommend doing before looking at any restaurants would be downloading ‘The Fork’, an app that gives you discounts off restaurants and allies you to book your table online also, https://m.thefork.it/?cc=15102-e75 it rewards you with points (YUMS) and as soon as you have a certain amount of points you can convert them into money off your next restaurant. I’ll put some names and pics of the top restaurants I would recommend. Most of these restaurants can be found on the Fork App.

Tijuana

Ristorante Pizzeria ENJOY

Ristorante Il David

ROBIGLIO

2. A Beautiful place/tourist attraction that I would highly recommend is Piazzale Michelangelo. You can see the whole city as it’s overlooking Florence. It’s just outside the centre over a bridge which is called Ponte San Niccolò. You can also walk from the centre (a lot of steps involved).

3. I would recommend the Artemio Franchi which is the Fiorentina Stadium, whether your a football fan or not the atmosphere is second to none, between the food and drink vans outside the stadium to the best fans ever watching the game it’s honestly a beautiful experience. Even if it’s not up your alley at all, try something new!! tickets available from a range of websites including 'Ticket One'.

4. An obvious place to visit would be the Duomo in the centre, the artwork and architecture is spectacular. A beautiful place to grab a sandwich or a glass of wine and sit outside the Duomo which is right in the centre (you can’t miss it).

5. One of my favourite places in Florence is Ponte Vecchio which literally means old bridge. The history behind it is fascinating and it’s also a romantic spot for a walk, a look at all the fab jewellery shops and old Italian architecture. You can see the river Arno running under the bridge where people que to take pictures of the scenery.

6. The Boboli Gardens are absolutely gorgeous gardens which are behind the Palazzo Pitti. Literally the most beautiful nature I have ever seen, lakes, gardens and old monuments that are breathtaking. Check out the website for deals on specific entry dates https://www.uffizi.it/giardino-boboli

7. The world of fashion. Florence holds one of the most amazing fashion events in Europe in January and June (summer fashion and winter fashion), basically a day when people from all over the world visit Florence and show off their style. This event is called Pitti Immagine. There are stalls from high end fashion to the most affordable pieces all along the streets, definitely a must! (ill be going in June).

8. If you fancy a tough walk with beautiful scenery to enjoy at the end check out the Giardino Delle rose, beautiful Japanese gardens with different types of flowers and plants and of course a wonderful view of Florence from the top.

9. Wine tasting is available almost anywhere in Florence, but if you fancy a bit more of a Tuscan experience there are plenty of tastings outside of Florence. They take you along the countryside and you can experience the most amazing wine (and plenty of it) whilst taking in some knowledge about how the wine is made.

10. Finally Shopping, so Florence is unbelievable for shopping Via Dei Calzaiuoli is the name of the main road into the centre of Florence but on this street they have all of the most famous brand eg. Gucci, Chanel, Guess, Calvin Klein, Prada, Louis Vuitton and many more! It’s a beautiful place to window shop or just to walk and watch the new fashion lines for each season. Florence also have all of the favourites like Zara, H&M, Brandy Melville and Subdued. However 15 minutes outside of Florence there is a big beautiful shopping centre called “I Gigli” with high end and affordable fashion also (PENNIES!!!) it’s definitely worth the travel!

Thanks everyone for your support, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to ask.

Grazie e vi aspetto!

Peace and love,

Sincerely RachelEve💋
